About the event
Join us for an evening with Chris Boyce, FWC Bear Biologist, as he discusses Florida Black Bears and coexisting with them.
Thankfully, the Florida black bear population is on the rise. We have more bears now than in the past century, but our conservation efforts must continue. There is still work to be done.
With an increasing number of bears and people in Florida, we urge all Floridians to take action to ensure our conservation success story continues. Many Floridians live, work, or play in areas where bears are present, so it's crucial for everyone to know how to prevent negative encounters with bears. The most important step is ensuring bears have no reason to linger near people. We can achieve this by securing anything that might attract bears on our properties.
