About the event
Join us for an evening of interesting facts about honeybees with speaker Briesa Ruby from Ruby's Raw FL Honey as she explains why they are so important to our survivial. Honeybees pollinate food crops by transferring pollen from the anthers of a flower to the ovules of another flower. This pollination greatly increases the quantity and quality of many crops including a variety of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts such as almonds1. According to bee experts at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, a third of the world’s food production depends on bees. When animals and insects pick up the pollen of flowers and spread it, they allow plants, including many food crops, to reproduce.
